Made up of more than 40 cities, this territory is located in the South-West of “Loire Atlantique” (department 44). Pays de Retz is surrounded by waters: Loire River, Atlantic Ocean, Breton Salt Pan and the inevitable Grandlieu lake.

Jade coast

Littoral border of Pays de Retz, the name Jade Coast come from its strong green water color. Made up of multiple seaside resorts, you will find long stretches of sand beaches on one side and unspoiled landscape of small rocky inlets on the other.

The hinterlands are just as charming: the Grandlieu lake in Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu, “Barbe-Bleue” castle in Machecoul-Saint-Même, the Logne Valley

You will find a lot of activities to discover the region: on foot, by bike, on horseback or even by canoe. Many markets, parking space for RV, fishing spots, themed festivals and a lot more activities give rhythm to life in Pays de Retz.

With its various landscapes and activities, Pays de Retz is also a seducing wine regionMuscadet, typical white wine from the region. But it is not the only wine you will find here: white wines, red wines, rosé wines and even sparkling wines.
