The International Wine Challenge was created in 1984. Judges taste standing up, over 10 days. In the first week, potential medal-winning wines are selected. These are then re-tasted and attributed an award based on a 100-point score system. The five vice-presidents taste the eliminated wines and re-enter some into the second round. These wines receive a ‘commended’ sticker.
